Musical Terms(covered so far...)

Beat – the steady pace of the music or poem; what you tap your foot to.

Rhythm – the short and long sounds between the beats; what you dance to

Tempo – the speed of the beat

Pitch – the high and low frequency of sounds

Melody – the main idea; the most important pitch and rhythm

Round – When the same melody is sung or played by two or more groups starting at different times

Harmony – when two or more notes are played or sung at the same time; they sound good or right together
Sharp - A pitch that is a half-step higher than the original pitch
Flat - A pitch taht is a half-step lower than the original pitch
Staccato - Short, separate notes
Legato - Smooth, joined together notes
Timbre - tone quality or color, how you tell the difference between instruments
