The Battle of the Books is a wonderful reading incentive program. A state committe of librarians has compiled a list of 30 books that students will answer questions about the books. Teams of students compete against each other by answering 20 comprehensive questions based on those books. Students must agree upon and offer up their answers as a group, which emphasizes teamwork rather than individual ability.
Participation is voluntary. A team of students will compete in the Battle of the Books in Santa Barbara on April 14, 2011.
