Lotus Domino Upgrade! Important! Please read! - 12/28/2006

Our mail server has been upgraded over the winter break to the newest version of Lotus Domino (7.0.2). This should provide better stability and security for your e-mail. You may notice slight differences in the webmail system's interface, but it largely remains the same. Additionally, this new version now supports access to the webmail system by Apple Macintosh computers. Please consult the system requirements below and install or upgrade as necessary to get the best experience from our new system. As always if you run into any difficulties using the new system please place a call on the ITS Help Desk for assistance.

Recommended System Requirements:

Microsoft Windows based computers:
Apple Macintosh computers:

Minimum System Requirements:

(Note: this is the absolute minimum required to use the system. Access will be sluggish at this level.)

Microsoft Windows based computers:
Apple Macintosh computers:

If your computer does not meet the minimum requirements listed above, we do offer a simplified web e-mail interface that will work on nearly any computer. You can access (and bookmark) the system's login page below:

Simple Webmail Login
How to access another person's e-mail file directly.

The iNotes direct page has been removed. Now to access another person's e-mail file directly (one that has delegated you permission to access the file) you need to use the following Internet address as a guide:

http://mail.lusd.org/mail/lastnamefi.nsf

Here you replace "lastnamefi" with the last name followed by the first initial of the person who's e-mail file you need to access. Occasionally this may be followed by a number if that person has a duplicate name as some one else in the district. If you are unsure what to enter just ask the person what their Webmail login name is, and enter it in place of "lastnamefi" in the example above. Finally some users who have changed their names in the system may have a mail file name that is not their current webmail login in that case ask the person what their login name was before their name change and use it to replace "lastnamefi" in the example above. If you have questions about accessing another person's e-mail file please place a call on the ITS Help Desk for further assistance.

E-mail Reminder:

When receiving e-mails with attachments please verify with the sender that the message you received did indeed contain an attachment. Attachments often carry malicious viruses that can damage the software on your computer and even spread to other computers connected to it via the network. Something as simple as verifying that the message carries an attachment can help prevent virus outbreaks, and keep computers district wide running smoothly.

If you should receive an e-mail message that you believe contains an attached virus, please delete it immediately. Also take the added precaution of emptying your trash in your mail program (or iNotes™) to make sure the message is deleted. If you have any questions about e-mail carried viruses or other computer or network related questions please call the ITS Department at (805) 742-3260.
