California English Language Development Test (CELDT)

The CELDT (instituted by Education Code sections 313 and 60810[d]) has three purposes:

n To identify students who are limited English proficient

n To determine the level of English language proficiency of students who are limited English proficient

n To assess the progress of limited English proficient students in acquiring the skills of listening, reading, speaking, and writing in English.

LUSD has established a uniform complaint procedure (1312.3) for all relevant programs per 5 CCR § 4622 et seq . The district has a policy of nondiscrimination on the basis of gender per Education Amendments of 1972, Title IX: Nondiscrimination.
