Lompoc Senior High School
Visual and Performing Arts Department
"About Us" We here at LHS are proud to boast one of the oldest and most successful music programs here on the central coast of California. Our fully comprehensive music program offers students an opportunity to perform and study music as members of many different types of musical ensembles. We possess a long history of performances throughout both our great State and our country. Performances such as the Lompoc Flower Festival Parade, the Lompoc Children's Holiday Parade, the Pismo Beach Band Review, Disneyland (parade and concert stage), the Hollywood Christmas Parade, the Southgate Christmas Parade, the Los Angeles Golden Dragon Parade, and many various other parades and field show performances. Our proudest legacy is the performance of the Marching Braves in John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Parade in January 1961.
At LHS the Music Department is a collaboration of outstanding students, faculty, administration, parental, and community support. We are constantly examining and adapting our curriculum and pacing guides to ensure a current and timely dissemination of musical information as well as ensuring the ongoing and continuing education of our faculty and staff. Over the years we have been the recipient of many awards in field, indoor, and concert settings. Many of our students have gone on to represent the Lompoc Valley as members of both CMEA and SCSBOA "All State" Honor Bands and Orchestras as well as pursuing higher education.
