10. Adult Education - Is there General Fund encroachment

Suggestion/Question
Adult Education - Is there General Fund encroachment?

Response
Adult Education revenue is part of the Tier III category enacted in the 2008-09 school year whereby the apportionment can be used for other General Fund expenditures.  Tier III  categorical program revenue is locked at the 2007-08 levels. Technically, the program does not encroach as Adult Education spends within its 2007-08 apportionment levels.  LUSD has made a philosophical decision not to sweep Adult Education apportionment because of the additional local and federal funding the program brings to LUSD as well as its service to the Lompoc community.

LUSD has established a uniform complaint procedure (1312.3) for all relevant programs per 5 CCR § 4622 et seq . The district has a policy of nondiscrimination on the basis of gender per Education Amendments of 1972, Title IX: Nondiscrimination.
