This is an area the district is investigating. Revenue from surplus sales is one-time, and typically not that large because used-government equipment does not get a high price on the open market. Buses tend to sell relatively inexpensively because of the licensing required to drive and operate them. The last LUSD buses sold did not generate much revenue, but the revenue was better than selling for scrap.
LUSD has established a uniform complaint procedure (1312.3) for all relevant programs per 5 CCR § 4622 et seq . The district has a policy of nondiscrimination on the basis of gender per Education Amendments of 1972, Title IX: Nondiscrimination.
