112. Hire a Grant Writer

Suggestion:

Hire a grant writer; this could create funds to help support our schools or replace aging computers

 

Response:

This suggestion has come in many forms.  It is hard to support ongoing costs such as computers with one time moneys. Digital High School, EETT, and other grants have front-loaded classrooms with computers over the last decade. Unfortunately, there is no ongoing revenue to support the ongoing expense required to maintain computers.  The District has hired grant writers before, but this tends to be for specific grants with which the grant writer has had documented success in obtaining.
