My name is Sara Foss and I am one of the 6th grade teachers this year at Los Berros.  Welcome to Room 31!  I am thankful for the opportunity to work with you and your family and to be part of this wonderful visual and performing arts program. I know we will have a great year!

I was born and raised in Lompoc, and feel very much at home here. I left for college, but didn’t go too far! I received my Bachelor's Degree and teaching credential from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and my Master’s degree from Chapman. This will begin my eleventh year as a teacher. I have taught grades 1-high school and this is my third year in 6th grade. My husband, Nathan and I, have two daughters who are seven and five, named Brooklynn and Madison. They sure keep us busy! Some of the things we enjoy doing as a family are hiking, camping, biking, and playing with our dogs. We have two dogs and two cats in our family and they are a lot of fun! Our children do gymnastics and dance and in the fall, they both play soccer.

I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was in 3rd grade. I loved my teacher so much and she influenced me to take the same path she took in education. I volunteered in a 5th grade class during high school and that sealed the deal for me! I love helping children learn and watching them soar in their academic endeavors. Every child can learn and it is my job to find the best way to motivate everyone.
