My name is Randy Hohimer and I have had the privilege of teaching for LUSD the past 16 years and entering my 4th year here at Miguelito. My wife, Betty and I are parents of Sierra, freshmen away at college. We have a dog, cat, and a guinea pig. I enjoy spending my time around the sea where you can find me diving and surfing. If you find me around town, I'm usually biking and coaching tennis.
Doing your "Personal Best" is my motto when teaching and coaching that I am constantly reinforcing with my students and players. I want my students to enjoy learning while challenging themselves to think, problem solve, and develop life skills.
One of my favorite poems that I will ask our students to memorize this year is "Success" by Coach John Wooden. It is taken out of his book, Inch and Miles The Journey to Success.
Success isn't having trophies or toys.
It isn't a medal or friends of your choice.
What is Success? That's easy to see.
It's trying to be the best you can be!
Don't worry what others may have or might say.
When trying your best,
Success comes your way.
