  • Mrs. Alvarez is a club advisor for the LHS Art Club, which meets during lunch every Tuesday.

    Elizabeth P. Alvarez holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree (BFA) in Illustration from Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island. She received her Professional Clear Teacher Credential in Art from UCSB and a Master’s of Fine Arts (MFA) degree from Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design in Auckland, New Zealand.

    Mrs. Alvarez has been in education and an art teacher since 1991, teaching grades from kindergarten through college in several locales: New Mexico, North Carolina New Zealand and Northern California.  Since 2016, Mrs. Alvarez teaches visual arts full time at Lompoc High School. Before coming to Lompoc, she worked in the industry as a commercial illustrator and graphic designer.

    In addition to her responsibilities at Lompoc High School, Mrs. Alvarez volunteers at the Wildling Museum in Solvang and participates in several juried art shows each year, including Gallery 113 and the Faulkner Gallery in Santa Barbara and Cypress Gallery in Lompoc.

    Mrs. Alvarez is a member of the California Art Educator’s Association (CAEA), S.C.A.P.E., Colored Pencil Society of America, Santa Barbara Art Association, Lompoc Valley Art Association, and the California Art Club.
