Sonya Cross was raised in Colton, California. She received her BA in Liberal Arts from Cal State University San Bernardino and received her credential from Cal Baptist University Riverside. She taught one year in Riverside before her and her husband moved to Lompoc in 1996. She taught for 14 years at Clarence Ruth and was an EL Support Teacher for 6 years. She has just finished receiving her administrative credential and is currently pursuing her masters degree. She is married to a wonderful and supportive husband who is the Athletic Director and varsity football defensive coordinator at Lompoc High. She also has three beautiful children. One who has just started his freshman year at Utah Valley University. Her other son is a freshman at Lompoc High and a daughter who is a 6th grader at Miguelito. She enjoys spending time antique shopping and camping with friends and family. She is happy to join this amazing team at Fillmore and looks forward to a great year.
