    Kathy Krebs
    4th Grade

Ms. Krebs is a central coast girl, through and through. She was born in San Luis Obispo and, aside from a few early years in Lancaster and Reno, raised in Santa Barbara. Ms. Krebs has lived in Lompoc for 20 years and raised her children here.  They are both graduates of Lompoc high.

Ms. Krebs began her teaching career at Fillmore School quite a while ago.  She will begin her 27th year in the Fall! Ms. Krebs began at Fillmore as a 4th grade teacher and, by choice, has changed grade levels every few years.  She has taught every grade except 6th, and in every wing of the school. For the past two years she has been fortunate to work with a wonderful team in a departmentalized setting in which she teaches language arts to every 4th grader on our campus.

When she is not working as a teacher she enjoys hiking in the local mountains, backpacking in the Sierras and elsewhere, traveling,  and of course, reading a good book.  A few of her "chosen rereads" are: Belle Canto by Anne Patchet, any Isabelle Allende book, the Ironweed Trilogy by William Kennedy, Quest for the Lost City by Dana and Ginger Lamb, and Running the Amazon by Joe Kane. Her last read was Wheel Men about the doping scandal in the bicycle racing community.

Ms. Krebs looks forward to working with your student this year. Please contact her with any questions.
