Ernie Lopez

Ernie has been employed with LUSD since 2016/2017 school year, in the position of Student Safety Liaison for Bob Forinash CDS. Ernie's experience consist of coaching youth league baseball, basketball and has been a mentor for a student that attended Grizzly Academy in San Luis Obispo. Ernie has lived in Lompoc since 1985 with his wife of 32 years who is a Special Ed teacher at Vandenberg Middle School. Ernie is originally from Venice California where he attended Broadway Elementary School and Mark Twain Junior High School. Upon leaving Venice in 1979, Ernie moved to northern California to finish his education and graduate from Lower Lake High School class of 81. After moving to Lompoc in 1985, Ernie got involved in hospitality working in hotels for 20 years, and 8 years as a call center representative for a top medical device company in Goleta California. While working in hospitality, Ernie and his wife got involved volunteering with church youth group (AWANA). Ernie has a son, that also works for LUSD. When Ernie's son was old enough to play sports, Ernie volunteered to coach baseball (for 10 seasons) and basketball. Ernie loves to cook and bbq.
