Welcome to World History!  My name is Michael Eppley. I am a native of Lompoc.   In 2005, I graduated with distinction and high honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Global Studies. I earned my teaching credential from Cal Poly State University in 2008.  I’ve worked as an educator at various local school sites including; Morro Bay High School, Lakeview Junior High, and San Luis Obispo High School.   In 2010, I was fortunate to become a member of the supportive staff at Vandenberg Middle School.

History is a fun subject to teach.  It is a subject where you get to explore interesting peoples, events, and cultures.  While history can be fun, it is also an extremely important subject as well.  The study of world history opens to students the grand case book of centuries of human experience.  Historical knowledge allows students to uncover the lessons of the past and ideally it helps them gain insight into current events and future possibilities.
