Mrs. Bree Jansen has been teaching for 17 years, sixteen of which have been at LHS. She started her teaching career at Vandenberg Middle School teaching English 7, then moved to Lompoc High where she has taught Opportunity, English 9, Reading Improvment 9, English Language Development Advanced 9, Beginning Dance, Intermediate Dance, Advanced Dance and Choreography, Cheerleading, and Dance Performance- whew! She was also the Activities Director for 5 years.
Mrs. Jansen is the advisor for the LHS Sapphire Dance Team and director of the LHS Dance Company. She is also involved with the LHS Drama program as assistant director and choreographer for the spring musicals. She was recently recognized as the 2020 Santa Barbara County Performing Arts Teacher of the Year.
Like many other LHS staff members, Mrs. Jansen is a proud graduate of Lompoc High School where she was involved in cheer, ASB, Renaissance, CSF, GREEN, Mock Trial, and other activities. She also studied dance at the Lompoc Dance Studio (now the Lompoc School of Dance) with Denise Donlon for thirteen years and was mentored by her LHS cheer coach, Kathi Sarkin.
