Mr. Steffey has been at Lompoc High School for fourteen years, teaching in the Special Education department. In addition to working with students with educational and behavioral challenges, Mr. Steffey is also the Girl's JV tennis coach, and Boy's Varsity tennis coach.  Previously, he has been an assistant track coach.

He completed his teaching credential at Cal Poly-SLO.  Prior to teaching, Mr. Steffey worked for the City of Los Angeles as a contract analyst for the Community Development Department.

Mr. Steffey is married, with two grown children, and four dogs.

Mr. Steffey treats all students with equal respect, and refers to them as "his work kids."  He is very appreciative of former students who have graduated that take the time to check in with him; and, he especially values the hard work of parents to prepare their students for success by teaching them respect and values.
