David Beatty teaches Drafting, Engineering Design, and ROP CAD/Manufacturing at Lompoc High School. This is Mr. Beatty’s second year at Lompoc High. He taught woodworking and drafting at LVMS for 10 years before coming to the high school. Mr. Beatty graduated from Morro Bay High School. He earned his BA in Industrial Arts and Teaching Credential from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Before coming to Lompoc, Mr. Beatty worked in industry as a Draftsman, and a Cabinetmaker.

Mr. Beatty is excited about the new advances in Drafting and Manufacturing. The facilities here at Lompoc High give the students the chance to work with up to date software in both 2D and 3D modeling. The machinery includes Laser scanners, Laser cutters, 3D printers, CNC wood routers, and a CNC metal mill.
