Maggie Fernandez has been a school counselor since 2006, having first worked at EL Camino Middle School, then Cabrillo High School and now Lompoc High School. She graduated from Santa Ynez High School. She has an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Allan Hancock College. She earned a BA in Sociology and in Spanish from the University of California Santa Barbara and MS in Educational Counseling from the University of La Verne. She holds a credential in Pupil Personnel Services in Educational Counseling. Mrs. Fernandez worked at Solvang Elementary School with English Learners for 3.5 years prior to her work as a counselor in Lompoc.
Mrs. Fernandez is married and enjoys taking her 2 kids, and her dog, Ruby on walks to the park. She loves to listen to music in both Spanish and in English. Her favorite time of the day is in the evenings when she reads to her kids.
Mrs. Fernandez focuses her efforts on guiding all students to be successful. Her goal is to ensure that her students graduate and explore post-secondary educational options.
