Completing Transfer Request Forms

 

  1. Complete the request form.
  2. Submit Forms:
    • Send Forms to warfield.trish@lusd.org
    • Fax them to 805-742-2079
    • Hand-deliver the form to the LUSD Education Center at 1301 North A Street, Lompoc, California 93436

Frequently Asked Question (FAQs)

  • Yes. If you have a student entering TK or Kindergarten for the upcoming school year and you are planning to request a transfer to another LUSD school, you must submit an application before January 15th to be considered for a transfer. This is prior to the TK-K registration window, which will take place in Spring. 

  • Yes. If you already have a student attending a school other than your neighborhood school and you would like their sibling to attend that school, you must complete an application. We make every effort to keep families together; however, siblings are not guaranteed approval. Transportation will not be provided by LUSD.

  • No. If you have a student with an approved intra-district transfer, the student may remain at the school for the duration of their educational program. It is not necessary to re-apply.

  • No. Transportation must be provided by the parent/guardian who have opted to attend a school outside of their home school boundaries. 

  • For the upcoming school year, the District will notify families by email or phone and mail about the status of their transfers no earlier than these dates:

    • TK/K: August 11
    • Grades 1-6: July 31
    • Grades 7-8: April 15
    • Grades 9-12: April 15

  • Please fill out a Request to Rescind Form below. The deadline to rescind any application previously submitted and approved is May 31st.

  • Intra District Transfer
    An Intra District Transfer is a request for a student to attend a different school within Lompoc Unified School District. Families use this form when they prefer a school that is not their neighborhood school but is still part of LUSD.

    Inter District Transfer

    • An Inter District Transfer involves two different school districts. This form is used when:
    • A family living in LUSD wants their student to attend a school outside LUSD. In this case, the transfer form must be obtained from Lompoc Unified, the student’s district of residence.
    • A family living outside LUSD wants their student to attend an LUSD school. In this case, the transfer form must be obtained from the home district where the family resides.

    For example, a family living in Lompoc who wishes to attend Santa Barbara Unified would need a Lompoc Unified transfer form. A family living in Orcutt who wants to attend Crestview would need an Orcutt Union transfer form.
