This free webinar by the Immigrant Legal Resource Center will equip immigration advocates with the information they need to help immigrant parents make a childcare plan if they are unable to care for their children due to detention or deportation. This video will cover alternate care arrangements for children under California law, including the Caregiver's Authorization Affidavit and guardianships - both recently updated by the Family Preparedness Plan Act of 2026 - as well as children's educational rights in California. It will also provide tips for sharing this information with families in your community.
