Stronger Together: Every Family Belongs

The Stronger Together: Every Family Belongs campaign formalizes and amplifies the District’s efforts to cultivate welcoming learning environments for all students. Recent Lompoc Unified policy updates outline the following:

• The District stands in unity with all the students, families, and staff in our school communities.

• The District has protocols for responding to immigration personnel requests for information.​

• The District will do everything in its power to protect and defend students, families, and staff, and will defend all students’ right to a public education.​

• Every District site will be a place of support and resources for all students and families, regardless of immigration status and any other protected groups in alignment with the District’s Nondiscrimination Policy.

 

Each school has support staff who can help families identify resources. If you have questions or need support, school staff can help connect you to resources. Conversations are handled with care and confidentiality.

Lompoc Unified School District follows board policies and school procedures designed to protect student privacy and support safe, welcoming schools for all families.

  • These Board policies, administrative regulations, and resolutions reflect LUSD’s commitment to safe, inclusive schools and provide guidance for school response protocols.

    • LUSD’s priority is student safety, learning, and privacy.

    • Immigration enforcement is not permitted to enter school campuses without proper legal documentation.

    • Any law enforcement requests are referred to District leadership and legal counsel.

    • School staff do not release student information unless legally required by a warrant or subpoena. 

    • Families would be informed if any situation impacted school operations.
