Yes. If you have a student entering TK or Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year and you are planning to request a transfer to another LUSD school, you must submit an application before January 15, 2025 to be considered for a transfer. This is prior to the TK-K registration window, which will take place in spring 2025.
Yes. If you already have a student attending a school other than your neighborhood school and you would like their sibling to attend that school, you must complete an application. We make every effort to keep families together; however, siblings are not guaranteed approval. Transportation will not be provided by LUSD.
No. If you have a student with an approved intra-district transfer, the student may remain at the school for the duration of their educational program. It is not necessary to re-apply.
No. Transportation must be provided by the parent/guardian who have opted to attend a school outside of their home school boundaries.
For the 2025-2026 school year, the District will notify families by email or phone and mail about the status of their transfers no earlier than these dates:
